Great Work IAC/ANSWER/TroopsoutNow/WorkersWorld. Another in the (half-of-the)streets organizing victory. Three years of the same old crap that makes everyone feel as though "we reallt did something" when all you really did was an well-permited, totally non-threatening, North Korea-like march.

After four years of this, and I a counting the year previous to the invasion when we really had some numbers going, is enough to tell us something that we already knew: The folks that run this show don't give a fuck about us, what we think and what our dreams are. Maybe we need to try some new, riskier tactics. Maybe we should starting thinking like the Old Style Labor movement, and get ready to fight and bleed for this cause, or these causes, that we all say that care so passionately about.

I don't want to sound to militant here, only to say: Come On, New York! Shouldn't we have a little more imagination? Let's get out in the streets (I mean really in the WHOLE street) and not get out of them until we get what we need. Or are we, like they say, a city of espresso-snob, middle-class Liberals, bent on apeasing our conscience,but not affecting any change at all.

Whether one occupies a sidewalk, part of a street, the whole street, or (what the heck) one blows up the street. Want to know why? You have no reliable resources, no capital, no real organization/organizational structure, no proactive and dynamic vision and no idea. What you have are the corrupted remains of a number of rather marginal political groups, which should have been put been out of their misery several decades ago.

The capitalists on the other hand have all of the above, and then some. They may be evil as hell, but they do know what they are doing in that regard.

Perhaps it is about time what remains of the left should separate itself entirely from the liberals and social democrats and start to think and function like intelligent revolutionary groupings again.
