NYC rescinds its new parade permit regulations and cancels August 23 police hearing. Overwhelming support at People's Public Forum last night at St. Mark's Church helped to apply pressure on city to back off. Over the past 2 years we have seen increased efforts by the NYPD and special interests in using divisionary tactics to split our community and to spread COINTELPRO rumors. Yet, the bicycle community has continued on with strong morale and the "still we ride" attitude.
Times Up! an environmental direct action organization, would like to thank all groups and individuals who worked together to help stop these unjust permit regulations. As we know, we do not need permits to keep our community together. Stay strong. Bicycling and non-polluting transportation are consistently on the rise.
