Police attacked participants at the Immigrants Rights March in NYC on May Day

The video shows a violent arrest of participant at the NYC Mayday march, and a subsequent near-riot as crowd became outraged at the NYPD. Antrim Caskey writes, A violent melee that ended in at least one arrest, broke out during the May Day Immigration march on Broadway, near Astor Place, "had nothing at all to do with a mask," said one New York City Police officer on the scene.

May 1, 2007 was the first anniversary of the Great Boycott of 2006, in which immigrants led walkouts, boycotts, and protests all over the US. May 1st is the original International Workers' Day, and it has been reclaimed in the last few years to honor immigrants' labor and contributions to the society and economy of the United States. The 2007 national day of action called attention to the "unfinished agenda" of fixing the country’s broken immigration legal system, and demanded a just and humane immigration reform law that grants full legalization for all people. Across the country, millions protested ICE's increasing militarized raids on families' homes, in which people are captured and held incommunicado, violating their due process of law and causing financial hardship to immigrants' US-born children. The Movement for an Unconditional Amnesty says, "These measures do not serve to stop immigration, but (force) immigrants underground, encouraging black market immigration and (causing) the separation of families."

we see the lie put forth by liberals about populations at risk. Here we see an "immigrant"rally, the stereotypical at risk population, and all those people working to prevent one of their own from a simple arrest. That is the kind of solidarity we all need to express, white and all colors alike. Even that camera guy thrown against the wall, someone else comes over and even puts his hand on the cop doing the arrest. It is better to help stop the arrest people! Make it harder foir them and there will be less aRRESTS AND INTIMIDATION! The cops panic and wield their batons rather than try to arrest more people often times. solidarity!

Sick of Cop Violence

I'm sick and tired of cops busting people, beating them up and then throwing malicious charges in their faces.

When the police start this shit, we have to be in their faces and not let them just intimidate us. The more people fight back, the less likely they will so casually intimidate people. But this takes numbers, cohesion and group solidarity to make it effective.

Pig situation tips from experience:

-While a pig is after someone try yelling from behind him that someone is fighting or "you need to speak to him," "help!" or "officer! behind you!". Act frantic, etc. Piggies are extremely alert and on edge when they go on a warpath; they are also afraid of crowds and may turn to look giving ur comrade a second to dip.

-When unarresting, if ur comrade gets loose immediately jump in front of the pig giving him your side and make believe you are rushing towards a friend... this will block the piggie from moving forward. Yell "Hey Bob look at this" or "here! just take your camera back!" or whatever to make it look good. If the pig is moving fast enough he might push you down; get loose and let him fall you then grab your knee and start yelling red. Don't stand too strong against the porkchop or you might damage him and make him turn a deeper shade of red.
