The people in audience wanted to hear Larry Cox and not some random hipster with a sign.

It's not unlike when some anarchist wank is giving a speech somewhere and a stalinist goon pops up and spams some shit everyone shuts him down and kicks his ass out so whatever man...

I understand that people did not go to hear the man in the audience necessarily. But this is not some random or corporate kleptocrat or even politician's speech that was interrupted. It was the head of an international human rights group. And look at how he reacts, letting the guy get physically assaulted and being silent. He could have answered the question quickly then said later I will speak more, or let the guy drone on for a bit longer, or something. instead he let someone physically remove him, for speaking up, literally.
I know he interrupted a speech, but really, that is how the head of AI handles it? I think that is very thought provoking, regardless of agreeing or not with the person's issue, which I need to look into more.

I would think such a situation would be handled very differently. Otherwise, there is a general leavening to the lowest going on in our world.
Anyhow, more direct actions and courage to do something and question the experts and "leaders" is what we need in these times! Not more koolaid.

When someone from within your political culture (not a demonstrator who is opposed to everything your political culture represents like the anti-abortion protester mentioned above) asks for an answer to a question in a space devoted to ethical culture and the speaker doesn't answer because he doesn't want to interrupt the flow of his speech or to show his bureaucratic power by not responding AND the audience doesn't walk out with the protestor or at least some of the audience then that political culture is dead.

The other thing is what's to say "plan mexico" is ACTUALLY a bad program? Just because interferes with the anarchist playground and hipster vacation destination Oaxaca doesn't mean it's bad for Mexico. Outside of your tourist cities and resorts the drug cartels are taking over Mexico and are becoming almost like warlords. If they get stronger than the Mexican government then, yeah, maybe they want outside help. So to judge "Plan Mexico" only with regard to ONE TOURIST TOWN is really shallow and quite frankly "Orientalist".

Absolutely dead on.

I'd love to see the anti-Plan Mexico people link their activism with those who are trying to put a human face on the horror that's going on in the border cities of Mexico. But that's up to them. There are few too many activists and it's up to them how to spend their limited time and resources.
