Rampant consumerism met corporate malfeasance today and an innocent Wal-Mart worker lost his life. The man whose name has not been released was trampled to death as customers stormed into Wal-Mart on Black Friday, the biggest retail sales today of the year in the United States. Wal-Mart and the rest of the big-brand retailers stoke consumers into a frenzy on Black Friday. Yet, Wal-Mart failed to take necessary safety precautions to deal with the foreseeable melee. A worker has lost his life and Wal-Mart must be held accountable.
