Mott's plant workers in NYC for protest
Matthew Daneman • Staff writer • May 13, 2010

Workers at the Mott's apple products plant in Williamson, Wayne County, are taking their fight over a new contract to the Goldman Sachs Consumer Products Symposium being held in New York City today.

Larry Young, CEO of Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, which owns Mott's, is scheduled to be at the symposium.

The protest revolves around proposed pay cuts being sought by Dr. Pepper Snapple Group as it negotiates a new contract with members of Local 220 of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union. The union represents about 300 hourly workers at the Williamson plant.

Union workers on April 18 voted to authorize the union leadership to all a strike at the plant, though no such strike has happened as yet.
