Given a choice between the most massive civil protest in the past 30 years and Dick Cheney waving to a comparatively miniscule gathering (likely as many journalists as actual supporters), guess what's leading the news today?

The world wants our big brother back (the USA) not this big bullying lunatic.
We fear the woest will happen to our friends and families in the USA if he gets in again. 4 more years will never be tolerated by those who are on the threat list.

I watched Sunday's march live in San Francisco for over 4 of the 6 hours on C-Span. It was so powerful. Thank you to all of you who took part. C-Span's camera was located right by the Fox News Building so there were lots of people yelling at FOX as they passed the camera. The coffin display was so powerful & we are curious who organized it. Our guess is the Quakers (because we saw no signs saying who it was) but this is just a guess. San Francisco's papers are saying there were 100,000 people there. They must not have been watching!! More reliable sources are saying over 1/2 million people.
The greatest conclusion to C-Spans coverage happened. Their camera was showing the almost empty street after the march and one man walked by, turned to the camera, flipped it off and shouted "Screw You George Bush!!" I loved it!!
Again, Thank You to all who were in New York and all who organized and participated in the march and all that came in the days before & all that is to come. This Is What Democracy Looks Like!

yay, i think its fantastic what you people have done, The news reports we got down here said tens of thousands, i guess their math is a little shy.

To all the critics who offer no real input to this list other than abuse, you need to take a good hard look at the statements you make. You president is the MOST unpopular in the history of the world man, most of the rest of the world think him and his cohorts/ cronies have done more damage to the US (and the rest of the world) than any number of planes flying into any number of buildings. The repercussions of this administration will take generations to fix, to yourselves a decent education system back, a better standard odf health, and the ability to travel to other parts of the world and not feel some prickling on the back of your neck, that is the realsiation that other 'normal. sane' regular' people detest what your govt stands for and is prepared to do to get it.

It's funny how all the comments from the right are full of hatred, slander, and brutality. Kind of like their "moral leader". It's sad to see. I myself thank you all for the courage to stand up and be counted. Looks like a million to me.

Hopefully now they are starting to realize that we the people want are country back. We need to keep applying pressure like this so we can ensure our message gets out. Some people just need to be guided. I was in NYC for my honeymoon in early August, but I only wish that i could've been there for the march!

I am a student in the UK with a keen interest in the current US political situation. I take heart in the fact that there was such an obviously large protest in New York, but I am still concerned that voter turnout will give Bush four more years.

The vast majority of British people are AGAINST closer integration with the US under the current Bush/Cheney administration, and I am fairly sure the US media did not cover the demonstrations in London at the beginning of the invasion of Iraq and during Mr. Bush's state visit. I feel this is a shame because the latter of these was intended as a message to the American people that Blair's close relation with Bush was not supported by the majority of UK citizens.

Would you vote for Kerry just to get Bush out of the Whitehouse? I find that to be completely irresponsible! Your vote is important and you should never vote for one candidate if your sole purpose is to remove another... What will then happen is in four years time you wil be voting for another candidate just to get Kerry out of office. If you do not believe that any of the candidates are suitable or reach the standards you think are necessary for presidency then VOTE BLANK!!! From a English perspective I am always baffled at why Americans let the concept of patriotism control them so much; it seems the worst thing you can accuse some one of in America is being unpatriotic. Patriotism in England is a term used by the right wing and ignored by everyone else. The concept Patriotism, seems to be used to keep people in fear of speaking out against corruption incase they are labelled a hertic. I marched disabled and 47 yrs. young. It is true if you believe in something strong enough, you can do anything. 1st time to NYC and I would love to go back. With the magnitude of demonstators and the minuesque amount arrested, we showed how determined we are to get Bush out and how respectful and dignified we are. And being disabled I walked the whole day and it was the proudest day of my life. Swing states came out in masses, I am from Wisconsin and proud.We still have much to do in 2 months.Help people vote

I was watching Democracy Now and observing Amy Goodman's interview with the delegates at the RNC. One delegate from Wisconsin, was asked the question about issues concerning with Iraq. She (the delegate) still thinks that Sadam Husein is a terroist in concerns to an attack on New York. One of the delgates believes that the troops wants to be in Iraq. Just these few, though major, issues that are occurring through the Bush Administration shows me that the Bush delegates are so misinformed into what is really going on or in total denial. I always say that people don't really have a true understanding of war or poverty until something happens in their own back yard, no judgement intended. Another thing that was mentioned, none of these delegates have seen Farenheit 911. These people don't know who they are voting for.
