As to the RNC delegates, it is common knowledge who they are and from where they come. In the interest of concision the poster merely compiled their names. That is not a crime.

We're wondering out here how much more proof U.S. citizens need to understand that they are losing their nation to a very real fascist resurgence. Indymedia rocks, but we can't completely isolate ourselves from our fellow citizens. We should try to reach them anyway we can. If it means sneaking up on the NY morning shows' windows on the street with short appropriate messages, so be it. If it means fucking banners towed by planes over county fairs, so be it! Whatever works.

One thing's for sure: if we don't turn this runaway ship of state from its present course, the SS won't just subpoena Indy, they'll shut us down.

The argument I am reading here is that that the personal information of the posters here should somehow be protected despite that fact that the very same posters have published other people's personal information. Thanks for writing and the request for clarification. The Secret Service are good people, like you and me, doing their work to the best of their abilities. Their practice as presented to the public is not secret per se, as our open society is not one of those police states with "secret police." That is a good thing for democracy's sake. M.K. The brazenness of the Administration's attempts to stifle dissent and to intimidate dissenters is absolutely sickening. I'm surprised that the secret service is just persuing this against NYC Indymedia. DC Indymedia also featured and still features this posting, they often site user statistics and ban users based on IP addresses (meaning they have been keeping logs), and their internet host, Mutual Aid, isn't a big company and probably has more tempting information since they host several more radical groups as well. They also just don't seem to have their act together as much as the NY group.

May I ask what would people think if the names, addresses and phone numbers of black democrats were placed on a website with a heavily anti-democrat message including times/places for protests and frequented by angry white republican police officers before an election?

The question is intent. Did the original poster intend to intimidate RNC delegates or provoke others to intimidate RNC delegates? I mean can anyone with a straight face say that posting these names was not an attempt to intimidate these people? What? Were we going to send them flowers?
