pirates terrorizing the 'eastvillage'!!!

(From the Open Newswire): the pirate parade started at st.mark's church with about 50 pirates, went through the lower east side back to st.mark's church. no police until houston st., then the parade got escorted by several police cars. no arrests.
some time around 6pm the police shut down tompkins sq park when the parade got close to the park.
As the people who got kicked out of the park, actually saw the reason for that,they agreed that this was a really silly action by the cops.
