Horses Charge Peaceful Sit-Down NYPD horses charged thirty sit-down anti-war demonstrators today on 50th Street and Lexington Avenue. In an attempt to clear the section between 51st and 50th, New York's finest resorted to using their horses to disperse a group of peaceful protestors. Instead of dispersing the people, the horses were pushed back by the refusal of the sit-down group to move off the avenue. Frustrated members of NYPD moved half a block back and after a brief celebration by the people, the horses galloped up Lexington and police made arrests. A CBS camera truck with camera men on the roof shot the whole event and will most likely edit it out on the seven o'clock news tonight.
