kinda contradicts what they tell you to do.

i heard that someone rubbed ben-gay on the horses ass and a minute later the cop couldn't control his horse...i hope no one got hurt. ;-)

we should create a neologism for cop rage/hatred at civil freedoms and their burning desire to hassle people...i've maybe met one good cop in my life, as everyone knows, they tend to be that guy in high school that nobody thought was cool and now he takes all his pent up emotions out on the public--i guess there's a reason people don't think they are cool, EVER!

its profoundly saddening to watch this abuse of human rights...and now we have brought it home...we do not live in a democracy...the walll is down, the curtain is down...now tyranny reigns throughtout the world and we are the authors of this global tyranny under the guise of "freedom"...

I've been to alot of protests. THere are always loose cannons on both sides. People provoke cops, cops provoke people. Case in point, the incident where someone put Ben-gay on a horse's ass. That's straight up dangerous. THose cops are scared and are easily set off. THat's why peaceful protesting is only way in my humble opinion. Flipping off a cop and shouting at them only increasing the tension. I find it almost irritating and I have a hard time going to protests these days.

Talking of civil freedoms is imo rather Orwellian. Defending "civil" liberties is defending ones own enslavement. The messenger of civility, that is the Man on Horseback (Genghis Kahn, Conquistador, George Washington, the mounted cop, the Hornet pilot, Cptn. Picard...), has through the ages imposed hierarchy, competition, guilt, shame and submission upon pacific, love-making majorities. Civilizing power demands Proper Behaviour according to Good Manners and Moral Law, in order to suppress Free, Spontaneous Action based on living spiritual wisdom and ethical consideration. Therefore emancipatory disobedience can never be "civil".

I am not shocked to see pictures of cops roughing up people. I am a firefighter and I am deeply offended that the GOP has scheduled their convention in New York city and right around the 9/11 anniversary.

The GOP should have known better than to hold the RNC in New York city, they should have expected this backlash.
I live in Canada, and i AM a dual citizen, but i feel helpless to the cause and don't know how I can contribute more to the Kerry/Edwards effort. If anyone has any ideas for participating/volunteering, email me.
