I was curious how it feels to be responsible for all the lost money going to the police and authorities instead of to the homeless, sick, and truly needy. Do you realize how many people could be fed for the costs associated with just one arrest, let alone thousands. Why are you people so hypocritical? Why are you not taking the money you have all spent on your expensive toys, like camcorders, cameras, $3000 bicycles, hotel rooms, airline tickets, and so on, and not doing something truly beneficial with it? Why are you protesting the system that gives you the right to protest? Do you not realize that you could all very well be machine gunned in many, many, other countries around the world for what you are doing? And yet you claim to be "opressed"? Your hypocrisy is self incrimidating and shows you for the shallow bunch of self centered spoiled brats that you are.

I believe this device has been at many of the major protest actions - I seem to recall seeing it at the Sunday UFPJ rally just past Madison Square Garden. Seemms like the type of thing they like to have there just for people to notice it (for deterrent sake) rather than for actual deployment. Still, be safe all. I just came from Union Square and there's a great atmosphere going down.

I over heard some of the delegates talking about those. These sonic resonators generate low frequency sound waves similar to the ones used in the old Soviet Union. They cause loss of bowel control and disrupt neural patterns, causing disorienting paralysis and sometimes seizures. You want money for AIDS, but you can't stop having Homo Sex. You take your pics with thousands of expensive cameras...but you can't go buy a bum a meal? If you all had done something constructive, like buying the poor a meal, you might have accomplished something. I'm so glad people are ignoring the nutballs posting on this site. f4th and gman, you obviously have a very shallow understanding of the ideas at play. If you don't understand something, ask. Don't start name-calling. Your arguments assume the following:

1) You assume that the protests in NYC have done thing "truly beneficial" (what is truly beneficial anyway? Does it oppose just plain old beneficial?).
2) You assume that if one person is "more oppressed" then the "less oppressed" is not oppressed (which is nonsense), and
3) You assume that people are protesting their right to protest, which they are not. Protesters don’t want to destroy the constitution for Pete's sake. Geez.

Also buying "a bum" a meal isn't going to solve the fundamental problems that create homelessness. One can feed the poor and protest. They are not mutually exclusive activities. And to fix symptoms without attacking the root is like treating cancer with only aspirin.

A few years ago I was psyched at all the tech activists had at their disposal. Now it seems like amateur videographers--with far more in expensive camera equipment than they have actual talent and ability to use it--outnumber protesters at points. C'mon people, it's gotten silly.
