At 3:30 pm on January 7, two agents from the FBI-New York Police Department Joint Terrorism Task Force (FBI-NYPD JTTF) rang the bell at the War Resisters League office located at 339 Lafayette St. Father Simon Harak, Anti Militarism Coordinator at the WRL, denied their request for entrance to the building. He met the two agents at the street where they explained they were looking for a male individual. The agents were told the individual was unknown to by anyone in the building. The agents continued to pressure for entrance and explained that "other organizations" were letting them in and being "ccoperative". Fr. Simon was asked why they were not welcomed and the agents reportedly became belligerent after spotting a sign on the inside door directing workers to not allow the FBI in the building. After a 10 minute discussion the agents left in an unmarked vehicle. If a warrant is not produced you are under no obligation to allow agents in your residence or place of business. Inform all members in the building and call your attorney or the National Lawyers Guild to report the incident immediately.
