The Met Council on Housing’s board has decided to endorse Norman Siegel for Public Advocate. You can go to for more info on his campaign. Norm has been a fighter for tenants and working class New Yorkers as a civil rights attorney. He was head of the MFY Legal Services, Inc., which assists poor tenants in neighborhoods in Manhattan and the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU). Recently, Siegel has defended critical mass bicyclists from police harassment and also fought for 9/11 families demanding governmental information and documents in regards to the terrorist attack.

Met Council believes that Siegel will return the Public Advocate’s office into a vehicle for investigation and muckraking. We also believe he will defend tenant rights and we hope he will be just and stern with slumlords.

Please remember to vote Norm Siegel for Public Advocate on Sept. 13.

The Met Council on Housing is a city wide tenant union founded in 1958. Met Council's mission is to defend tenant rights and preserve affordable, rent regulated housing in New York City.
