It was announced yesterday that the 2000th US soldier in Iraq was killed yesterday. While this is a rather arbitrary number, and speaks nothing of the untold suffering of Iraqis (and the uncounted tens of thousands killed there -  http://www.iraqbodycount.net/), it is something the US media will be talking about.

Actions are planned across the US, with many holding candlelight vigils (and some planning more direct action). UFPJ ( http://www.unitedforpeace.org/) has called for people to gather at the Times Square recruiting office at 6 this evening, and if you want something closer to you, you shouldn't have trouble finding it:  http://www.afsc.org/2000/

Lets make this a hard milestone to ignore; hopefully we can put a damper on media hooplah about the constitution being forced on so many Iraqis.
