PLEASE COPY AND DISTRIBUTE WIDELY!

The blizzards last week in South Dakota created
massive problems on the Yankton and Rosebud
Reservations.
Tens of thousands have been without power and are
being sheltered in various community buildings, a
casino, and at the local Super 8 Motel.
The need on these Reservations was immediate last
week, is more immediate as you read this, and will be
still more immediate tomorrow.
There is a HUGE need for food, warm clothing and
blankets, and donations of cash. As you will read
below, the Super 8 is housing people gratis and is
asking for donations.
There is also a drive for donations to pay propane
costs in order to prevent shut-offs in individual
homes of elders and those unable to pay high propane
costs and unable to survive without the service.
There is an IMMEDIATE need for relief workers,
SELF-SUFFICIENT people skilled in helping people work
in commUnity under adverse conditions, and trained,
SELF-SUFFICIENT people to aid in search and rescue
operations.
Certainly, trained doctors and councilers are always
needed in such situations.
There is also a great need for PLUMMERS, and for
people to help insulate and repair homes once the
current crisis has past. Anyone able to teach the
People in ways to cheaply and efficently convert homes
to alternative or more efficent heating alternatives
is most needed in the days to come.
Donations may be made through a PayPal link on Earth
Star Creations homepage. Scroll down about half way

Below find a letter that was sent to me this morning
about conditions on the Reservations.

BEGIN FWD:

I am working on getting the flier on pdf but don't
know how...

My brother Julian is doing search and rescue right now
and pretty much everyone is out of their homes.
They opened shelters and have the casino and hotels
too...there are 300 people at Super 8 in Wagner alone.

I know we can do some sponsorships of elders and we
are actually working on that but now everyone is
dispursed so finding them is hard.
Until the power is restored ( which may be mid
december) we need basic survival gear. We are asking
for blankets, warm clothes, electric kettles, cup of
soup, jerky, trail mix, stuff you can eat easily. the
grocery stores are restocked but most don't
have money because no payroll etc.
If you go on  http://www.earthstarcreations.com
you can see that super 8 is taking donations and we
are asking for care packages. when the power is
restored many will have burst pipes and need plumbers
to fix them...dont know if fema is that far ahead but
we will see....

The reason we are doing the propane etc . is that we
can help without them knowing who...pride is huge...we
just
say its from spirit.
I like your ideas, but earth star is me, dianne, john
and that's
it.
delbert went to rosebud to take supplies and to hunt
for the elders...
I am here with Mato and fielding phone calls, emails
etc. In the future we can expand, but need to have
volunteers and funding. this is an emergency situation
and thus emergency measures.

The storm will blow over, the power will get turned
on, people will go home, but the needs will still be
there. I knew there were a lot in need and we have
been looking for families way out of towns..we had to
go with those families we knew already help them, and
expand from there.

Asking for $ has been so we can buy what is needed.
There is not a generator from Winner to Sioux Falls
because of the huge outages. we found three in Sioux
City, Iowa and had to buy them on the spot.
So far I have put out about $3000 of my own money
because we had no $$ donations. I wish i could win the
lottery but not yet anyway...my funds will only go so
far and i still have
bills etc. so the cash is to buy wool socks, sweaters,
hats blankets etc. (
i have a wholesale account set up now to buy those and
ship them) I know many people are strapped and they
can help by spreading the word..there is always ways
to help without $...but finding those who can donate $
is essential too.
We have over 100 elders in need of propane assistance.
that
is 3000 a month for just those......so put the word
out as you are and i will keep everyone updated on the
website and in emails. pray pray pray...love lelie
