Eugene, Oregon, U.S. - A total of seven individuals have been indited on arson and sabotage charges in federal government's recent crackdown on earth and animal liberation activists. Additionally, six individuals (1,2,3,4,5,6) have been subpoenaed to testify at a Eugene, Oregon grand jury scheduled for March 16th 2006. Of the seven individuals indicted, only Josephine Sunshine Overaker remains at large.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Friedman declined to say what led to the arrests after years of investigation. The FBI and the Building Industry Association of Washington recently began offering $100,000 rewards for information in earth and animal liberation cases. The indictments were handed down by a Summer 2004 Eugene Grand Jury which got bad press for handing out subpoenas to a number of single moms. The mothers were given the difficult choice of testifying or being sent to jail as means of coercion, leaving their children in uncertain circumstances.
