Distribution 101 -- Grassroots Outlets and Film Festivals &
Distribution 102 -- The Internet
This panel will cover various grassroots and Internet based media outlets that you can use to distribute your piece, from public access TV to DVD distribution for policymakers, to community screenings, film festivals, and social networking sites. Panelists will feature real life examples of innovative grassroots media distribution strategies. From videoblogging to wikipedias, to social networking sites, this panel will focus on making sense of the myriad of ways to get your video not just on the web, but WATCHED on the web!

Confirmed panelists include Moikgantsi Kgama, the co-founder and co-director of Imagenations' Film Festival, a festival run by the Harlem-based organization that uses independent cinema and progressive music to foster media equity, solidarity and cross-cultural exchange; and Ryan Shlief of WITNESS's The Hub, the world's first participatory media site for human rights for individuals, organizations, networks and groups around the world to be able to bring their human rights stories and campaigns to global attention and to mobilize action to protect and promote human rights. Also speaking will be Julian Gerena-Quiñones of MNN's Youth Channel, a division of MNN that produces and promotes media made by, for and about youth.
