Join the Impact is a group that is organizing protests nation-wide against the
anti-gay propositions that were passed on Tuesday. Proposition 8 of California,
Proposition 102 of Arizona, and Proposition 2 of Florida all banned gay
marriage. The Arkansas Adoption Ban prevents unmarried couples from adopting
children, and supporters have made it clear that this was aimed towards gay

The protest will take place at 1:30 pm on November 15th at City Hall in New
York City, as will other nationwide protests. If you cannot attend in NYC, you
can find your nearest location here:

If you are interested in volunteering please email us
at impactnyc {AT} gmail.com .

We have created a Twitter account so you can stay current:

The event is taking place on the sidewalks surrounding City Hall on Saturday,
rain or shine, completely valid and legal.

As the daughter of an NYPD detective and law student, I can assure you that I
want nothing more than for this protest to go off without a hitch, and with no
disturbances to the police or the city.

With this being said, I think it would be best if our efforts are now focused
on gathering speakers, and organizing volunteers. If you can revist our list of
needs and work together that would be wonderful.

----UPDATE 4:18pm 11/11/08-----

The address for City Hall is
260 Broadway New York, NY 10007

We are working quite hard to get all of this organized and we appreciate
everyone's interest. Please keep telling everyone you know. Feel free to take
one of the posted images and make flyers. To everyone who has shown an interest
in volunteering we will get back to you as soon as possible with exactly what
it is we need from you. Thank you all so much!
