Moore (718) 940-7476 Nov. 13, 2008 Brooklyn, NY Tuesday, November 18, 2008 marks the launch of the NeoSoulCircuit New Films at Cafe Shane, a brand new screening and discussion series of original films by emerging independent filmmakers, particularly women and people of color. The screening series is located at Cafe Shane restaurant in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Opening the series is the quirky romantic comedy, “Au Pair Chocolat” written by New York independent Casting Director, Abigail McGrath and directed by her son Benson McGrath. Ms. McGrath will attend and discuss her experiences creating and producing the film. “Au Pair Chocolat,” explores the story of Tawney, a young woman from Harlem, who takes an au pair job with a wealthly African American family on Martha’s Vineyard and awakens to life’s choices. The film earned the “Best of Festival Award” at the African Diaspora Film Festival and awards at several other international festivals. The audience is encouraged to participate in the talkback session immediately following. Prospects for women and minority filmmakers in an Obama administration will be the theme of the discussion. Brooklyn resident, Karla Denise Moore hosts the series and will moderate the discussion. Admission is $5.00 with a $10.00 food/drink minimum.
