Dear Single-Payer Supporter:

If you haven't yet heard, the Obama Transition Team has
announced a project for people across the country to host and
attend "health care discussion meetings" to gather ideas and
input from the grassroots about healthcare reform.
Healthcare-NOW! and many other organizations supporting
single-payer national health care have encouraged activists to
organize and attend these healthcare discussions between now and
December 31st. Our goal in participating in this effort is to
both educate people about the benefits of a single-payer
approach and the problems with lesser reforms, as well as send a
clear pro-single-payer message to the Obama-Biden Transition Team.

If you are planning a single-payer meeting, please contact us
Healthcare-NOW! at and we will post it
to website and encourage others to join you. We would also
like to track the activity of single-payer activists attending
these house parties, so please let us know what your experience
was like.

A New York Times article stated today that 4200 meetings have
already been organized and more are being planned. The same
article also reports that the the health insurance industry is
encouraging its employees and satisfied customers to attend.

It is more clear than ever that we must make a big impact with
our single-payer message. Please use the excellent, up-to-date
material developed for activists attending and hosting these
meetings by Physicians for a National Health Program resources
for house parties .

Dr. Quentin Young, PNHP National Coordinator recently
participated in a video project to encourage activists to get
involved in the health care discussions. Check it out!

Finally, thanks for all of your tremendous work at this critical
moment to say loud and clear: single payer now!

In peace and health,

Katie Robbins
