Effective storytelling is an essential part of any linear-based media, whatever genre it maybe. A well-developed and presented story can cut across age barriers and will hold the interest and reach its viewers and listeners. Well preserved stories and oral histories will be remembered long after other orations. Knowing and applying the basics of storytelling will strengthen your video and media projects. Come hear from practitioners and media makers in the field who will share tips and strategies for effective storytelling. Confirmed speakers include representatives from StoryCorps, an independent nonprofit project whose mission is to honor and celebrate one another's lives through listening; Art for Change, an organization that provides a forum for creating innovative art and media programs that inspire people to take an active role in social justice: and The Center for Arts Education.
