On Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, hundreds of anti-war activists and peace-loving groups and individuals responded positively and attended the demonstration in New York City called by a coalition of organizations comprised of ANSWER Coalition, American Iranian Friendship Committee (AIFC), International Action Center, (IAC) and World Can't Wait (WCW) among others. The march began from Times Square and proceeded to the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. Throughout the march thousands of Americans along the route attentively heard the message of the protest action loud and clear: No War, No Sanctions, No Intervention, and No Assassinations on Iran!

At the U.S. Mission to the UN, a letter from the Executive Committee of the American Iranian Friendship Committee (AIFC), addressed to Susan E. Rice, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, was read to the audience, presenting the demands of the Iranian people. In part the letter stated: "Today the world is a witness to simultaneous global protestations against the aggressive U.S. policies and 'gun-boat' diplomacy, " and "In the spirit of democracy and responsiveness, we call for an end to all sanctions on Iran!" These demands were then loudly chanted by the hundreds of protestors gathered, "No Sanctions! No War on Iran!!"

From the U.S. Mission, the peace-loving Americans then marched to the Israel Mission to the UN, where Ms. Sara Flounders from the International Action Center (IAC) and Mr. Ardeshir Ommani, President of the AIFC clearly expressed the truth that it is not Iran that is a threat and danger to the international community but in fact it is the United States, Britain, France and Israel that are aggravating peace and creating tensions in the world. The United States is shamelessly amassing tens of thousands of U.S. troops in bases of the reactionary monarchical regimes of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain, where the U.S. Fifth Fleet is located, war preparations that may threaten to plunge the world into World War III. Mr. Ommani, from the AIFC, demanded that the U.S. pull its troops, warships and aircraft carrier out of the Persian Gulf.
