AJLPP APPLAUDS PISTON FOR SUCCESSFUL NATIONAL STRIKE

AJLPP-USA | National transport group,PISTON declared the protest against oil price hike and againt the US Arroyo regime, a success.

PISTON with affiliates in Mindanao reportedly paralyzing public transport in at least seven cities and, in Western Visayas, the major cities of Bacolod and Iloilo, and Iloilo and Aklan provinces, also coming to a virtual standstill.

George San Mateo, Piston secretary general, said their protest was not a numbers game. 
What was important, he said, was they were able to express their dismay over the continuing oil price hikes.

AJLPP | The Alliance-Philippines (AJLPP) declared today its support for the national transport strike in the Philippines planned for May 12, 2008.

AJLPP national coordinator Mario Santos said, “The AJLPP unequivocally and wholeheartedly supports the transport group, Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON), which is affiliated with the Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU – May First Movement) Labor Center.” PISTON will lead Monday’s transport strike which will start at 12:01 a.m. Monday.
