David Felix Sutcliffe, c/o onto | Some of you have already heard the story of Adama Bah. For those of you who haven't, Adama - a Muslim teenager and former student of mine at the Harlem Children's Zone - was detained by the FBI in March of 2005. Without any explanation they accused her of being an "imminent threat" and appeared ready to hold her indefinitely. After a widespread public protest, however, the government agreed to release her. Without going into a detailed history of the case, I believe she has been unfairly targeted and in the process has seen her family split apart. more... 0 Comments

Kellen Kass, c/o Hans Arp, Postleft Office | Aside from small aspiring states such as the Marxist-Leninist Mexican Communist Party, there are other politicians in the midst of the APPO. One of the spokespeople of the APPO, the media-darling and crass opportunist Flavio Sosa, was a part of Vicente Fox’s election campaign in 2000 through his organization the New Left of Oaxaca. Sosa has also been actively involved in the PRI splinter-party the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) for years, a party he actually quit in order to be involved in the APPO. It should be pretty obvious that Sosa is a political opportunist who moves from one group to the next in hopes of carving out some kind of position for himself. more... 0 Comments

dingo | A recent study highlighting the rapid expansion of organised criminal activity in those areas where NATO and the U.S. have engaged in aggressive military intervention offers further evidence of the lasting negative social consequences of foreign occupation by neo-colonial powers. As corporate driven America attempts to assert its dominance over weaker nations, organised crime, quick to exploit traumatised societies, becomes the principal beneficiary in the 'war against terror' and the spread of ‘democracy, liberty’ and free market capitalism – what is good for capitalist America is even better for a crime boss! more... 0 Comments
Barry Grey | The lead editorial in Sunday’s New York Times deserves careful reading and consideration. Entitled “Learning from Iraq,” the piece should serve as an antidote to popular illusions that the American electorate’s massive repudiation of the Iraq war on November 7 and the capture of Congress by the Democrats will lead to a retreat by the American ruling elite from its policies of neo-colonialism and war.
Watchdog | With Polonium 210 in the news, the chance arises to question why this exact same stuff, though in lower quantities, is permitted in typical cigarettes. Other news is about the effects of dioxin on people of VietNam. Dioxin, a chlorine-by product, joins the Po-210 in smoke from contaminated cigarettes. Neither is from tobacco but from LEGAL industrial contaminants. To blame just tobacco, or "smoking" for anything is to let the Polonium and chlorine/dioxin interests slide...out of liabilities and prosecution, and all the way to the bank with what OUGHT be our compensation money. more... 0 Comments
