Adalah-NY | 25 New York City human rights advocates caught the Israel Business Leaders Delegation to the United States by surprise this morning with a noisy protest outside their “breakfast reception amidst the Leviev jewelry collection” at the Leviev store on Madison Avenue. Groups worldwide have conducted a successful campaign for the boycott of Leviev’s companies due to their involvement in Israeli settlement construction in violation of international law, and human rights abuses in the diamond industry in Angola. In addition to businesspeople, among the guests present at the breakfast was TV personality Dr. Ruth Westheimer who tried unsuccessfully to avoid notice as she left. more... 3 Comments

Adalah-NY | One day before the Hebron Fund's controversial fundraising dinner at the New York Mets' Citi Field, a coalition of civil rights and peace organizations released new details about extremist statements by individuals associated with the Hebron Fund, and about its fundraising for illegal purposes. The statements were made by Yossi Baumol, the Executive Director of the Hebron Fund, Rabbi Dov Lior, the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish settlers in Hebron, and Noam Arnon, an honoree at the upcoming dinner. Other examples of racist, violent and illegal activities supported by the Hebron Fund were included in a November 3rd letter to the Mets.

Adalah-NY | Over fifty human rights advocates gathered outside the office of Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig in midtown Manhattan at lunch time today to demand that he prevent the New York Mets from hosting a Citi Field fundraiser for a Jewish group that supports violence and racism against Palestinians. The protest came two weeks after eleven organizations sent a letter to the Mets and Commissioner Selig asking them to cancel the event for the Hebron Fund at the Caesars Club, which is located directly above the Jackie Robinson Rotunda at Citi Field. The groups said that the event would “taint” the Mets and Major League Baseball’s commitment to diversity and equality, and insult the memory of Jackie Robinson.
Some Friendly NYC Antifa | Once we were alerted to the whereabouts of Irving's talk, hilariously booked at the Times Square Doubletree Hotel as "The Real History Conference," we activated our network of shadowy agents. A little reconnaissance goes a long way, and we quickly found the best route onto the sixth floor of the hotel. Once there, thirty pissed off anti-fascists rushed the door. Of course Irving and his protectors quickly closed and dead-bolted themselves inside, stranding both his personal assistant, Jaenelle Antas, as well as self-described "next Hitler" Alex Carmichael. more... 18 Comments
One People's Project | Friday the 13th doesn't always mean Jason is going to come out and slash you up. If you're Holocaust denier and Hitler apologist David Irving (that's starting to be his name around here) that might have been preferable to his New Jersey experience that day. Jersey doesn't like Nazis, and will do something about them when given the chance. That is probably why this was the first stop on his East Coast tour that Irving saw opposition. He held his speaking engagement at a Best Western in Pompton Plains, NJ, and antifa, who were told that another venue canceled him but went to check it out just to be sure, found out that the true location. If that wasn't bad enough, hackers zeroed in on his websites, giving antifa everywhere an early Holiday treat - information on all of his supporters. Today he is supposed to be in New York City, but he has to find another place there too. The original spot closed his doors to him once they learned who was coming his way. Antifa did good - damn good this evening, and even if you can't find what venue Irving duped into hosting him, you can most certainly now find a lot of the folks down with him. Works for us! David has his spin going on this one, saying, "We are puzzled that they (antifa) are so frightened by historical debate." Well, we are puzzled about you being puzzled, Dave. Debate can only be had when you have those you are debating in the same room with you, which you tried so hard to avoid and always do. This time it was in vain, and now a lot of you-know-what is going to hit the fan. See what happens when black (clad) cats cross your path on Friday the 13th, Dave? more... 56 Comments
New Yorkers Against David Irving | It wasn't difficult to figure out where David Irving, under a fictitious name, reserved space to spew his holocaust revisionism. And it didn't take too much explaining before the venue manager decided to cancel to event. Only a bigot would want this filth associated with their venue! more... 6 Comments
New Yorkers Against David Irving | David Irving is a notorious pro-Nazi history writer. He has made repeated anti-Semitic, Holocaust Denial and racist statements over the years, including that "no document whatsoever indicating the Holocaust occurred" has been found, and "the holocaust of the Germans of Dresden was real. The holocaust of the Jews in the Auschwitz gas chambers is a fabrication." Although he has retreated from some of these statements, Irving has continued to blame Jews for what the Nazis did to them; he attempts to minimize the scope of the Holocaust; and he publicly praises Adolf Hitler. more... 12 Comments

Adalah-NY | Eleven organizations from the US, Palestine and Israel have called on baseball’s New York Mets to cancel a November 21st dinner at the Caesars Club at Citi Field for the Brooklyn-based Hebron Fund. The dinner is a fundraiser for Israeli settlers in the Israeli-occupied West Bank City of Hebron. In a letter sent to the Mets on November 3rd, the groups said, “The New York Mets will be facilitating activities that directly violate international law and the Obama administration’s call for a freeze in settlement construction, and that actively promote racial discrimination, and the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homes in Hebron.” Seven hundred Israeli settlers, living amidst 150,000 Palestinians in Hebron, are expanding their hold on the historic old city by driving out the Palestinian residents.
Adalah-NY | On Saturday forty New York human rights advocates rallied on a cold fall day at the Madison Avenue jewelry store of Israeli settlement mogul Lev Leviev to demand that Israel release jailed Palestinian boycott activist Mohammad Othman. Othman, held without charges and in solitary confinement since September 22nd, is from Jayyous, a West Bank village where Leviev’s company Leader is building the Israeli settlement of Zufim. The protesters also called for an end to Israel’s wave of arrests of Palestinian activists from Bil’in, another West Bank village campaigning against the construction of settlement homes by another Leviev company, Africa-Israel. more... 0 Comments
MELLOW YELLOW | October 9th, 2nd Friday of the month: Brooklyn Critical Mass, an unorganized group bicycle ride celebrating community and non-polluting transportation experienced a sudden reversal of tactics from NYPD. Police in Brooklyn for years have typically monitored and followed the ride with numerous motor vehicles, even at times facilitating the safe passage of cyclists through the hazardous motor-dominated streets. This month a ride through Prospect Park resulted in dangerous conditions, multiple summonses and one arrest in a calculated strategy of entrapment by formally- friendly police. more... 9 Comments
Adalah-NY | A few weeks ago, Mohammad Othman, a boycott campaigner from Jayyous and longtime activist against the wall, was detained and imprisoned by the Israeli forces on his way back into Palestine. He is the first activist arrested for his activism around BOYCOTT, DIVESTMENT, AND SANCTIONS (BDS) against Israel. Join The New York Campaign for the Boycott of Israel (NYCBI) and Adalah-NY: The Coalition for Justice in the Middle East for a protest at the Leviev store.
