Scott Mylxine | (This was originally done for the Northwest Florida IMC, but since a lot of it revolves around the RNC protests I thought it might be of interest) As the war in Iraq continues to take lives, the voices of dissent are getting louder by the day. Of these dissenting voices, one is emerging that is harder for the "hawks" to write-off: that of the military veterans recently returned from the war to form the Iraq Veterans Against the War. What are they saying? The IVAW is saying the war is wrong, people are dying, and if we want to end the violence, we need to bring the troops home now and end the occupation. more... 7 Comments

Emmanuel Goldstein | Within a half hour of arriving at the massive detention center at Pier 57, I noticed a young woman who had one of her arms freed from her plastic handcuffs. I asked her if she would help me get some pictures taken so that people could see what the conditions were like. I never got her name but she and her friends did a great job of snapping a few shots while not being seen. While some of them came out blurry (photography conditions were not optimal), there may be details visible to someone that could be significant so I'm including them all here. Details for each shot are at the bottom of the page. more... 4 Comments
