Rene Heilig | The war against Iraq was resolved as a policy. The US government was only interested in secret service information that supported this policy.. Information that did not fit the long resolved war strategy was consciously ignored, Drumheller lamented. more... 0 Comments

anarchistNJ@yahoo.com | On April 29th, 350,000 people marched for 'Peace, Justice, and Democracy' in New York City - a march that featured the largest anti-war labor contingent in U.S. history. Anarchists and anti-authoritarians from the New York Metro Alliance of Anarchists, various chapters of Students For A Democratic Society, the War Resisters League, the Industrial Workers of the World, and others joined the march with calls of "Rob the rich, arm the poor, no war but class war!" and "Fuck NYPD, We Want Peace and Anarchy!" banners reading "Fire The Boss!" and "Fight The Rich, Not Their Wars" and black and red&black flags. more... 10 Comments
firstname.lastname@example.org | IT IS CRITICAL TO MAKE THIS EVENT!
Danny Malec | Today, in commemoration of International Workers Day, peacemakers and nonviolent activists from around the world engaged in nonviolent civil resistance to highlight the interconnectedness between the ongoing foreign occupation of Iraq and workers’ struggle for justice around the world. In this war, like all wars, the brunt of the cost -- both human and financial -- is disproportionately felt by the poor and working classes all over the world. In the current debate over immigration, it is important to continue making the connection with the failures of US foreign policy (which lead to greater challenges domestically), of which the Iraq war and invasion are prime examples. The stark reality for immigrants, most of whom are themselves political and economic refugees of US foreign policy, is just another example of the shortsightedness and ultimate failure of decades of US warmongering and international interventionism, of which torture has been a key component. more... 0 Comments

Alex Gourevitch | From the introduction of the movie: "In the past politicians promised to create a better world. They had different ways of achieving this but their power came from the optimistic visions they offered their people. Those dreams failed...Increasingly politicians are seen as managers of public life. But now...Instead of delivering dreams, politicians now promise to deliver us from nightmares." Hour-long showing, followed by discussion, at Alwan for the Arts, May 4th, 7.30 pm, 16 Beaver St. Brought to you by Against the War on Terror (www.againstwot.com) more... 0 Comments

dingo | No greater tragedy has beset the Australian nation than at the present time. Everything that is un-Australian masquerades as the leader of the nation; is it necessary to name John Howard as the personification of everything that is un-Australian? A cowardly, cringing, lying, weevil does not an Australian make! Howard is the most grotesque, obnoxious flea that has ever inhabited political office. A perfect coward and pathological liar has won the last two elections by default. The local population desperately sought a viable opposition but found NONE; a high school student could have beaten Howard but not the present opposition; no greater congregation of self-centred, self-destructive, inept fools has ever sullied the floor of parliament. more... 0 Comments

Jon Sobrino | We are seduced by the prosperity culture to which everything must be sacrificed. In this way, the life of others and the monstrous suffering of the planet are played down.. In Latin America, thousands have lived friendship with the poor and with God instead of being friends of the empire and the emperor. Many of us live from this inheritance. more... 0 Comments
