War & Peace
Fred Bergen | Faced with this situation, Working Class Emancipation calls for voting a "spoiled" ballot, by writing "Defeat US Imperialism in Iraq and Afghanistan" and "Full Citizenship Rights for All Immigrants" all over the ballot (or filling these slogans in as "write in candidates" if it is an electronic voting machine). We call on the workers and militant youth who want to see a working class revolutionary alternative on the ballot in the future to join us and help build the organization that can make this possible. more... 0 Comments
Adam | Day after day news stories come out about more horrible things that are happening in Iraq. Every day there are more dead soldiers, more car bombs, more shootings and more cases of torture and humiliation. Why then, is it that the mainstream anti-war movement is only visible every 6 months or so to have a big march? If this war is going to end any time soon, there needs to be a well organized anti-war movement that is constantly visible. Democrats, greens, libertarians, socialists, anarchists and independents rarely agree on everything, but the one thing that they do all agree on is that it is time to stop the war. It is time to put aside our differences and unite for our common goal. more... 3 Comments

Of particular focus will be promoting a sister-city relationship between the Bronx and Libertador, city districts with similar profiles: historically marginalized and under-resourced; yet artistic, resiliant, and actively organizing. Churches, unions, schools and other community-based organizations should send representatives with the intent to continue direct organizing upon return to NYC. more... 1 Comments

D. Grant Haynes | North Korea's nuclear test of October 8 is an understandable reaction to the Bush administration's belligerent policies toward so-called "Axis of Evil" states. Iraq, which had no nuclear capability and little else with which to defend itself, was brutally attacked by the United States and has undergone three years of hellish occupation in the aftermath. It is not surprising that other forewarned members of the so-called "Axis of Evil" should be casting about for defensive programs.
